Knudsen pleads guilty to assault on woman, daughter

Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney, Leah W. Askey announced Oct. 2, 2012, that David Knudsen, 39, of Moscow Mills, has plead guilty and was sentenced for an assault on a Lincoln County woman and her 14-year old daughter in 2010.

The Honorable Dan Dildine sentenced Knudsen to 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for Assault in the First Degree and 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for Domestic Assault in the Second Degree.

The charges arose from a Dec. 31, 2010, incident in which Knudsen severely assaulted his then-girlfriend and threatened to kill the victim’s 14-year old daughter while holding her at knife point.

“I am glad to see this case come to end.  We strive to gain closure for the victims as quickly as possible and these victims have been diligent and involved in the process.” said Assistant PA Therese Marchlewski.

“It has been a good week for sentencing in Lincoln County.  Hopefully a message is being sent to offenders that Lincoln County takes prosecution of these crimes seriously,” Said PA Leah W. Askey.

This case was prosecuted by Marchlewski.  It was investigated by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Kevin Hunt was the lead investigator.
