Mary Louise (Canada) Crawford

Mary Louise (Canada) Crawford of Moss Hill, TX, passed away October 5, 2012 in Troy after a lengthy illness.

Funeral arrangements are being made by McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home of Troy, Mo., and Allison Funeral Home of Liberty, TX. Graveside services will be at the Moss Hill Community Cemetery on October 10, 2012. Louise lived in the Moss Hill Community from 1969 to April 2012

 

Dennis E. Dalton

Dennis E. Dalton, 52, of Elsberry,  passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 at Barnes/Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born on April 9, 1960 in St. Louis to Maurice and Janet Dalton. Dennis met his future wife, Theresa McKinney, though her brother. The rest is history. They were married on Dec. 22, 1982. Together they raised their two sons: John and Adam.

Dennis was a good provider for his family and owned and worked for the family business, Clayton Plastering and Tuckpointing in St. Louis. The family later moved to Elsberry and Dennis and Theresa liked to travel the country roads and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Every Sunday, he would listen to KSHE 95 Classics. He also enjoyed fishing and cooking BBQ for his family and friends. He was loved by many and will be sadly missed.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Theresa Dalton, of Elsberry; his two sons: John and wife, Renee Jennewein, of Eolia and Adam Dalton and fiancée, Laura Sanders, of Troy; his seven grandchildren: Jeremy, Justin, Jordan, Noah, Madison, Haily and Cloe. He is further survived by his two brothers: Brian Dalton, Patrick Dalton, and his two sisters: Tina and husband, Brian Mohan and Pam and husband, Ben Ell; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kevin Dalton.

Visitation was held Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral & Cremation Center, 1304 Boone St., Troy.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. also on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral & Cremation Center in Troy. Officiating: Pastor John Bateman. Interment to followed in the Corinth Cemetery, Clarksville.

Chris L. Hudson

Chris L. Hudson, 52, of Lincoln County, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 5, 2012.

Private service to take place at a later date.

He worked as a painter  and was raised in Oklahoma.

 

Elmer Joseph Stepanek

Elmer Joseph Stepanek was born March 4, 1927 to Harrison Stepanek and Amelia Kiefer Stepanek in Hawk Point. He passed away Sept. 28, 1012, at his home in Escondido, Calif. surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia Lawler Stepanek and his children, Leslie, John (Krista), Doug (Erica), Paul (Dina), Elizabeth (Mike Smith) and Patricia (Chad Bird); as well as 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings, Leroy, Earl, Oscar, Homer, Kathryn and Melva.

Siblings preceding him in death were Mildred, Harry, Ruth and Virginia.

Elmer was raised in a farming community west of St. Louis. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 17 and served during WWII. He earned a master’s degree in education and taught school for 36 years. Thirty of those years were at Potter Junior High School in Fallbrook.

Since his retirement, he has enjoyed gardening, music, camping and traveling. He was an active member of the Church of St. Timothy. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2007. He enjoyed five years of good health and an active lifestyle. Elmer will be missed and his memory will be cherished by his many friends. His spirit lives on in those fortunate enough to have known him.

Visitation was held at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary  in Escondido, Calif. on Oct. 3 with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass was held at the Church of St. Timothy Oct. 4 at 9:30 a.m.
