Nell Grimes-Shirley Wilson
Mrs. Nell (Caldwell) Grimes, 80 of Eolia, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012.
Nell was born on Aug. 25, 1932, in Curryville, the child of James H. Caldwell and Vera F. (Kafoury) Caldwell. Nell grew up with three sisters and one brother, and family was always important to her. She attended the local schools and graduated from high school. In January 1952, she married the love of her life, Thomas J. Grimes, in Bowling Green. Nell and Thomas were blessed with two sons; Donald, and Gary, and one daughter; Beverly.
She is survived by her children: Donald E. Grimes and his wife, Carole, of St. Bruno, Quebec, Canada, Beverly F. (Grimes) Thompson and her husband, Darrell, of Columbia City, Ind., and Gary T. Grimes and his wife, Cynthia, of Bear, Del.; eight grandchildren; siblings: James H. Caldwell II and his wife, Jeri, of Seattle, WA, Isabell Watkins of Eugene, OR, Helen Caldwell of Springfield, MO, Emily Ogden and her husband Ray Ogden of Bowling Green, many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, from 3 until 7 p.m at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1304 Boone Street, Troy.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at the Eolia United Methodist Church, Eolia. Interment will follow in Eolia Cemetery, Eolia.

Funeral services for Shirley Ann Wilson, 74, of Columbia, formerly of Elsberry, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at the First Christian Church in Elsberry. Rev. Jim Daniels, retired pastor of Corinth Christian Church, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery.
Ms. Wilson passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at her home in Columbia.
Born July 25, 1938 in Foley, she was the daughter of Delmer Lee and Pauline Elizabeth McClellan Hines. She attended Foley Public School, Elsberry High School and Winfield High School. She then went on to attend Culver Stockton College and Northeast Missouri State University. She was blessed with one son, Wynn.
She worked for several years for the Visiting Nurses of Columbia, over 20 years for the public schools in Missouri and was a former Mary Kay consultant. Ms. Wilson then worked for many years as an Academic Teacher for the State of Missouri Department of Corrections, retiring December 31, 2011. She was a member of the Missouri Teachers Association and the Department of Corrections Association. She was also a member of the Cornath Christian Church.
Survivors include one son, Wynn G. Wilson of Columbia; and one grandson, Micheal Wynn Wilson. She also leaves two brothers: Jess Hines and his wife, Avis, of Foley, and Dale Hines and his wife, Cathy, of Millstadt, Ill.; one brother-in-law, Brent “Doc” Wilson and his wife, Kim, of Elsberry; two special cat friends: Lola and Ashley; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
