Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney Office has filed charges against a Hawk Point man.
Robert Dale Strus, 51, of the 300 block of Cheryl Court, has been charged with statutory sodomy for allegedly having sex with a girl younger than 14 years of age.
Strus was charged after the girl alerted authorities. The alleged incident took place at Strus’ residence. A cash only bond was set at $50,000.
Two men are in custody and are charged with two counts of burglary and possession of burglary tools in connection with an attempted robbery of a residence at Hawk Point.
Charged are Caleb Seyler, of Collinsville, Ill. and Matthew Hannon, of East St. Louis., Ill. Bond on each of these men has been set at $15,000 (cash only).
Authorities said quick action by neighbors led to the arrests. They spotted the men allegedly attempting to enter a home on Chestnut St. They called 911.
Those accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
