Three injured in two separate accidents
According to traffic reports, there were two separate accidents on November 28, 2012.
The first accident occurred on Hwy. 47 at Giles Road at 2:55 p.m. This was a two car accident. Both vehicles were traveling westbound on Hwy. 47 when Michael Gray, 25, of Troy, attempted to pass several vehicles at once. Vehicle two, driven by Alma Coffell, 82, of Troy, was attempting to make a left turn onto Giles Road when the front of Gray’s 1999 Chevrolet Lumina struck Coffell’s 2002 GMC Safari van.
Both Gray and Coffell suffered minor injuries and were taken to St. Joseph West Medical Center by Lincoln County Ambulance.
Gray was not wearing his seat belt, but Coffell was wearing hers.
In the second accident on November 28, Melissa Mathis, 45, of Moscow Mills, suffered serious injuries after her 2001 Chevrolet Blazer traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned down a steep embankment. This accident occurred on Hwy. 47 .2 miles east of Gravens Road.
Mathis was wearing her seat belt at the time.
