Mark Allen Watson, 61, died Monday, November 26, 2012 at his home in Troy, Mo. He was born February 21, 1951 in Ulysses, Kan.
Mark worked at Disney Land in California as an electrician.
Funeral service were held Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Manter, Kan. Reverend Don Hasty officiated. Interment followed at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kan. with Military Rites conducted by Johnson VFW Post #3684. Friends may call Friday, November 30, 2012 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson. Mr. Harry Samuel “Sam” Van Scoyk, 63, passed away Friday morning, November 30, 2012 at his home in Elsberry, MO. Born August 8, 1949 in Louisiana, MO, he was the son of Henry Hoagland and Margaret Alvina Ray Van Scoyk. Sam was a graduate of Elsberry High School. He went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force. He worked for many years as an over the road truck driver for Dynamic Transit Company based out of Granite City, IL, retiring in 2003. Sam was a member of the New Hope Lodge #199 AF&AM of Elsberry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoagland and Margaret Van Scoyk; and one daughter, Samantha Jo Tucker.
Survivors include four sons: John Van Scoyk and his wife, Patty, of Winfield, Mo., Randall Van Scoyk, of O’Fallon, Mo., Charles Van Scoyk and his wife, Jocelyn, of Kailua, HI and Robert Calvin and his wife, Rosetta, of Elsberry; one daughter, Tammy Bishop, of MS; and nine grandchildren. Sam also leaves brother Henry “Hank” Van Scoyk and his wife, Kathy, of Tampa, FL; other relatives and friends.

Plezz Helton, 83, of Warrenton Mo., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at Barnes St. Peters Mo. Plezz was born to Plezz Sr. and Myrtle (nee Alexander) on July 31, 1929 in Rolla, Mo. He was united in marriage to Patricia Helton on Dec. 4, 1948 in St. Louis. Plezz was a self-employed mechanic for many years and later a custodian at Pattonville School District.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Patricia Helton of Warrenton, Mo. One son, Timothy Helton of Wentzville Mo., one daughter, Marcia Barron (William) of Troy. Three grandsons, Jeffrey Ashby (Lisa) of Tavernier, Fla.; Michael Helton (Alicia) of Wentzville, Mo. and Bradley (Danielle) of St. Louis, Mo. Five great-grandchildren, Mariah, Nicholas, Kathryn, Cameron and Kallie.
Michael Lynn Norton, 45, peacefully climbed his stairway to heaven at his home in Clearwater, Fla. on November 16, 2012.
Mike was born on September 15, 1967 to the late Orval and June Norton in Troy, Mo. Formerly of Elsberry, Mo., Mike was a graduate of Elsberry High School. He grew up fishing on the banks of the local rivers, and working in the family business. After a diving accident in 2000 which left him paralyzed, Mike relocated to Tavernier, Fla. While there, he participated in several cutting edge studies at the Miami Project to cure paralysis. Later he moved to Tampa to be part of a trial project sponsored by the Florida Brain and Spinal Rehabilitation Program. This program made it possible for the physically disabled to become independent and live outside of nursing home facilities.
In spite of his disability, Mike lived every day to the fullest. He would stay busy recording movies or listening to his vast collection of classic rock and roll. He was always smiling. He enjoyed his family, entertaining his friends, and telling stories. He was an inspiration to everyone around him, and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his three children, Michael Moll, of Elsberry, Mo., Ashley Norton, of Tavernier, Fla. and Zach Norton, of Wentzville, Mo.; as well as brothers, Randy Norton (Mary), of St. Genevieve, Mo., Mark Norton (Julie), of Silex, Mo., and his sister Sandy Jerome (Bill), of Tavernier, Fla. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Chael Moll, of Elsberry, Mo., and Adelyne Bay Norton, of Tavernier, Fla. and several nieces and nephews, including his closest friend Skyler McGarry, Tavernier, Fla.
Services will be held at Burton Memorial United Methodist Church in Tavernier at 2 p.m. on Saturday December 15.
A local service and burial in Missouri will take place at a later date.
Robin Sue Yates, 55, of Moscow Mills, Mo., passed away on November 30, 2012 at her residence in Moscow Mills, Mo. She was born November 29, 1957 in St., Louis, Mo. a daughter of the late Bobby Dalton and Evalena (Tucker) Frey. She was united in marriage to Donnie Yates, Sr. on December 3, 1975 in Clayton, Mo.
Robin attended school in Pattonville, Mo. She was employed at Wal-Mart in Troy, Mo. and True Manufacturing in O’Fallon, Mo. Robin had an immense love for her children and grandchildren and was always entertaining her friends and family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Donnie L. Yates, Sr., of Moscow Mills; children, Angie Summerton and husband, William, of Winfield, Travis Yates, of Moscow Mills, and Donnie Yates, Jr., of Moscow Mills; one sister, Timi Pollard and husband, Brent, of Troy, seven grandchildren, Chelsea Summerton, Shannon Summerton, Coren Bradshaw, Haley Summerton, Peyton Yates, Cain Frey and Jayden Yates; and one great-grandchild, Jordyn Dallas. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Lucas W. Frey, June 27, 2012.

David, 9, passed away Wednesday morning, November 21, 2012 at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born April 28, 2003 in St. Peters, Mo., he was the son of David Dewayne and Angela Diane Biener Simpson. David was a 3rd Grade student at Winfield Elementary School in Winfield.
He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfathers, Dick Simpson and Sigmund Biener.
Survivors include his parents: Dewayne and Angie Simpson, of Winfield; and his sister, Dana Michelle Simpson, of the home in Winfield. He also leaves his paternal grandparents: John and Debbie Hubbard, of Winfield, his maternal grandmother, Sue Ecton and her husband, Jim, of Omaha, Neb.; his paternal great-grandmother, Mildred Simpson, of Winfield, his maternal great-grandmother, Suzy Biener, of Melbourne Beach, Fla.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Bennie L. Litchfield, 46, of Foristell, Mo. passed away on Nov. 30, 2012.

Robert “Bob” Henebry, 91, of Hawk Point passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012. He was born on August 3, 1921 in Troy, a son of the Thomas and Mary Ella (Norton) Henebry. He was married on October 11, 1947 to Geneva Ethington. To this union seven children were born.
Robert attended school in Hawk Point. He was a farmer his whole life and still found the time to raise six children, take care of the cattle, harvest crops and work in construction. He was a very busy man, who his hands were never at an idle and always found time to attend family functions. While being a laborer he helped build the GM plant, several bridges and highways. Robert loved to take his family to the Queen Arena and enjoy the night dancing. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Robert was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Missouri Cattleman’s Association, Hawk Point Lions Club, Local 660 Laborers Union, he was initiated on December 16, 1959 and retired on January 1, 1991 as a gold member of 53 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Geneva Henebry, of Troy; children: Richard Henebry and wife, Penny, of Troy, Kenny Henebry and wife, Sissy, of Hawk Point, Betty Anne Smith and husband, Gene, of Winfield, Alice Amann and husband, Craig, of Hawk Point, Donna Reale and husband, Jim, of Defiance, Mo. and Roberta Trost and husband, Mike, of Defiance, Mo.; 16 grandchildren: Michael, Robert and Michelle Henebry, Jill Brian and Kenny Dunard, Dawn Seeger, Heather Gray, Heidi Owenby, Heath Amann, Keith Henebry and Joseph and Andrew Trost; step-grandchildren: Vanessa Guyot, Natalie Mennemeyer and Phyllis Tuepker; 13 great-grandchildren: Kaleb and Ashleigh Henebry, Layne, Jaxon and Mason Henebry, Brenden Cockrell, Preston and Luke Seeger, Lilly, Brianna and Cooper Owenby, Arianna and Alysan Amann; nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant daughter, Mary Jane Henebry, one infant granddaughter, Cynthia Amann and two brothers, Bernard and Richard N. Henebry.

Robin French, 52, of Old Monroe, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012 in Old Monroe, Mo. She was born on February 22, 1960 in St. Louis, a daughter of Joseph T. and Barbara (Emge) Franklin. She was united in marriage to Pat French on March 24, 1979. To this union one son was born.
Robin graduated from Fort Zumwalt High School in 1978. She was employed by the Elevator Constructors Union. Robin had a love for all animals.
She is survived by her one son, James French and girlfriend, Mandy Fix, of Old Monroe; mother, Barbara Franklin, of Troy; her companion, Tim Wimsatt, of Old Monroe; one brother, Rusty Franklin and wife, Diane, of St. Paul, Mo.; nieces and nephews, Nicole Franklin, Nathan Franklin, Nicholas Franklin, Sarah Koester and Kayla Koester. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph “Whitey” Franklin in February 2011.
