Price-Gnade Ford donated $6,000 to the Buddy Bags program at Troy R-III School District.
Price-Gnade Ford and Boone and Lincoln Elementary schools teamed up together to host “Drive one for your school” during a Parent Teacher Conference. Throughout the night, 300 test drives were conducted. For every test drive, Price-Gnade donated $20 to the Buddy Bag Program.
The Buddy Bag Program launched in Feb. 2012. The District had identified K-5 students that are likely to not eat any meals until the return to school. Troy R-III launched the program as a solution to hunger among students.
Currently, the program helps out 189 kids a week. The program gives these kids a bag of healthy food that is easy to cook for the weekend or over the holidays when they are away from school.
“This program is a great cause and very well administered,” says Jim Price, Price-Gnade Ford.
