Hopeful for a better 2013 as 2012 wraps up
If you are reading this, then I guess we all survived yet again another “end of the world” scare. Hopefully no one out there spent all their money on their last night here, or sold everything just before the end came…those are some of the things that happened the last time the world was ending. Boy were they surprised when it didn’t.
Although many of us may feel like all the events that have happened within the last few months feels like the end of the world, its not. What is that saying…something about, you have to hit rock bottom before things start to look up. It seems 2012 has been full of drama, sadness and stress (hopefully our “rock bottom”) but also some great times were had during the year too. I’m sure there will be more ups and downs to come in the next year, but I will be glad to get this year under my belt. The good just doesn’t seem to outweigh the bad as a total recap of the year. I hope that next year I will play a bigger role at turning the tables, in my own life anyway.
My hopes for next year are for it to be peaceful. I know everyone wishes for peace on Earth but right now, it seems so far away. I just hope for things to settle down and 2013 starts to make a turn for the better. I’m hoping for the economy to make bigger changes upwards, for the gas prices to stay “low” and for nights of just sitting on the couch, catching up with friends and not having to worry about money, or your safety.
Right now, it doesn’t seem like the flip of the calendar will have the affect that I desire but I remain hopeful that a Merry Christmas is all we need and a slight attitude adjustment will send us in the right direction.
A black cloud looms over us, making it hard to move forward from any tragic event. We have to remember what we still have here and share memories and love for what isn’t with us anymore. Many shootings have taken place and lives have been lost. What we need to remember is to look out for one another, don’t hesitate to report something suspicious and to be thankful for every day you are given.
This year I married my best friend, purchased my first home, and had some good times out with friends. I’m looking forward to next year and making it even better so I have even more to be thankful for every day I am given. You never know when your time will be up and I plan on making the rest of mine here more positive and I’m going to try and learn to not sweat the small stuff because you can’t control everything…nor would I want to.
