Mrs. Ruby M. Bobeen, 84, of Troy, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, surrounded by her loving children.
She was born on Oct. 9, 1928, in Silex to John and Ethel (Achor) Colbert. Ruby was blessed to have five siblings. She met her future husband, Ralph Bobeen, through a mutual friend. Ruby and Ralph were married on Nov. 16, 1949, shortly after Ralph’s honorable discharge from the U.S. Army. To this union were born seven daughters: Joan, Jeanette, Karen, Marilyn, Mary, Rita and Debbie. The young family lived in Briscoe Junction, later moving to Troy. Ruby had been a long-time member of Sacred Heart Church where she was very active. Embroidery work, canning produce from their garden, and tending to her flowers were some of her many pastimes. Ruby especially liked helping children at Sacred Heart School with their Reading Buddy program. The Bobeens traveled to several states, including Florida and traveled to Hawaii on their 25th wedding anniversary. Ralph passed away on Dec. 24, 1984 and his passing left a great void in Ruby’s life. She traveled a lot with bank trips and the OATS bus and really enjoyed the time spent together with her friends.
Ruby is survived by her six daughters: Jeanette Bobeen, of Sioux City, Iowa, Karen and husband, Duane White, of New Sharon, Iowa, Marilyn and husband, Ron Gibbons, of Story, Wyoming, Mary and husband, Rick Austerschmidt, of Fenton, Rita and husband, Robert Renken, of Wentzville and Debbie and husband, Tom Cizerle of Carl Junction, Mo. She is further survived by her son-in-law: Ken Marlin, of Anamosa, Iowa; her grandchildren: John Marlin, Jim Marlin, Matthew White, Drew White, Tyler Goldammer, Emily Griffey, Kevin Cizerle, Darin Cizerle and her great-grandchildren: Noah, Ella, Grace, Jackson, Elle, Brenna; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, from 4 until 8 p.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral & Cremation Center in Troy A Rosary service will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Troy. Father Tom Wissler will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart School Reading Buddies Program, Sacred Heart School Library or Masses, c/o the funeral home.

Mrs. Velma M. Ordelheide, 86, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Lincoln County MO, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at her son’s home.
She was born on May 10, 1926, in Troy, to George and Clara (Walhbrink) Schaper. Velma grew up on her family’s farm on Hwy J in Troy along with her older sister, Garnelle. Velma moved to St. Louis because of work.She met Wallace in Wright City while they were in high school and they were later married and were the love of each other’s lives.
Velma worked for the railroad for a short time until later working as an office manager for 7-11 Quick Shop in Chesterfield. The couple was blessed with two children: Diane and Gary. During these early years, when Velma was young, she played softball. When she was married, she enjoyed bowling and golfing with her husband on different leagues. Her hobbies included needlepoint, knitting and crocheting.When the couple retired, they would travel to Mesa, Ariz. during the cold Missouri winters.Volunteering at St. Luke’s Hospital was second nature to her, as she was a kind, giving person. A few years ago, Velma’s health began to fail, and she moved to Ft. Lauderdale to be closer to her family.
Surviving are her daughter: Diane Ordelheide, of New York, N. Y., and her son, Gary and his wife, Betts Ordelheide, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; her brother-in-law, Charles Knipmeyer of Marshfield, Mo; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral & Cremation Center, 1304 Boone St. Troy. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral & Cremation Center in Troy. Rev. Gary Jackson will officiate. Interment will follow in Wright City Cemetery.
