Winfield dominating in volleyball, three squads at top of competition

The Winfield Lady Warriors accomplished another one of the team’s pre-season goals by clinching at least a share of their second consecutive GAC North Division title with a resounding 25-15, 25-12 win over Orchard Farm.   • Troy wins two games prior to entering districts

    Troy Buchanan High posted two wins prior to beginning district play in softball. They defeated Fort Zumwalt South 13-3 in five innings. They erupted for eight runs in the opening inning en route to the win. Offensively, Christa Reisinger had three hits, four RBIs and a triple. Jenny Richardson drove in three runs.     The wheels seem to keep coming off for area football teams as the season goes down the home stretch. Winfield hosted Warrenton Oct. 3. Warrenton proved superior that night, building up a 47-0 lead after three quarters en route to a 47-6 win. Winfield’s score came on a 13-yard pass from Damian Cagle to Chase Bauer.   • Trojans without key players lose in tourney

    Troy Buchanan Trojans took a fall to Francis Howell losing 12-25, 10-25. Playing well for the Trojans was Stef Richterkessing with six kills, one solo block, and 11 digs. Carlie Brown had two kills on the night and Emiley Cross and Paige Carroll each put one down. Ally Richterkessing had nine assists on the night.
