Wild turkey seminar in Hawk Point April 1

The Cuivre River Wildlife Management Association will host a free wildlife seminar on April 1 at the Hawk Point VFW hall.   • Elsberry spring sports coaches look for athletes to attain success

    Elsberry Track and Field Coaches Scott Cleveland and Hector Bencomo are already dreaming of state medals for some of their returning athletes this year. The two have come up with a unique strategy that seems to work well for the team as a whole. “Hector deals more with the running events and I handle the field events,” said Cleveland. “We don’t really break it down so much by gender anymore.”

  • MDC says spring turkey hunting looks good for most of Missouri

    Missouri turkey hunters can expect a good spring season overall according to the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC). The spring turkey hunting season starts with a youth-only weekend April 11-12 for young hunters ages 6-15.
