The Elsberry Track and Field teams participated in their second practice meet of 2014 at Orchard Farm April 1.     On Tuesday, April 8, at 6 p.m., Winfield traveled to Warrenton for a conference game. The close-fought match went into halftime with no score.     Troy Buchanan High Track Trojans got their girls’ track season off in impressive fashion winning the Fort Zumwalt West Invitational. They earned 165.5 points.     Getting the season off on a positive note was important for the Troy Buchanan High Baseball Trojans under new coach Andrew Elemendorf and his staff. Through their first seven games, they matched last season’s win total and had a near .500 record (3-4). They lost their opener 3-1 to Wentzville Holt in the Troy Flooring Center Baseball Invitational. Shane Ponder accounted for Troy’s only run with a solo home run.

    Missouri turkey hunters have reason to be optimistic about the 2014 spring turkey season, according to the state’s turkey expert. Missouri’s spring turkey season runs from April 21 through May 11. The youth season takes place April 12 and 13. This year’s hunting regulations are nearly the same as last year.
