MDC encourages Missourians to share opinions on protecting deer

The Missouri Conservation Commission recently approved proposed regulation changes to the Missouri Wildlife Code regarding the operations of hunting preserves and wildlife breeding facilities that hold white-tailed deer, mule deer, and their hybrids. The proposed regulation changes will be published in the Missouri Register through the Secretary of State’s Office at for a 30-day public comment period beginning July 16.     All Troy Buchanan athletes planning to compete in high school athletics this year can get their required physicals in Troy.   • Legion Field in Elsberry is now ‘Painter’ Field

    On July 4, the Legion Field in Elsberry was re-named ‘Painter Field’ in honor of Darrell Painter.

    Legion Baseball has once again reached a fevered pitch in Elsberry. Gregg White’s AA team started off last week with a doubleheader against Warrenton on July 2. Elsberry won both games by scores of 6-0 and 18-1, respectively. White’s team then played Pacific on the road in a game that ended with no score. Elsberry’s AA team took to the road for the rest of the week following that game

  • MDC managed deer hunt applications

    Beginning July 1, deer hunters can apply online for a shot at nearly 5,700 openings for more than 100 Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) managed deer hunts taking place from mid-September through mid-January.
