Troy Elks Hoop Shoot

Troy Elks Lodge #2805 will be hosting its annual Hoop Shoot Contest on Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Troy Middle School Gymnasium. The Hoop Shoot provides a great competitive experience for all contestants. Boys and girls ages 8-13 are eligible.   • Trojans to help with Toys for Tots project

    Troy Trojans will be participating in two special events in November, helping to get their season underway. Troy Buchanan will host a preseason basketball scrimmage on Nov. 21. In addition to the Trojans, other teams participating will be Orchard Farm and Palmyra. Each team will play two games beginning at 5:30 p.m. Troy will play Orchard Farm at 5:30 in Round I and Palmyra at 6:30 p.m in Round Three.

    The Lincoln County Roadrunners are getting ready to kick off their basketball season and would love your support. The local chapter of Special Olympics Missouri participates in the St. Louis Metro Area competitions starting in January, and coordinators welcome anyone who would like to compete or volunteer. Athletes participate in team events competing in 5-on-5 full court, 3-on-3 half court, and team skills competitions depending on their athletic ability. Sign

      Elsberry’s cross-country teams traveled to Spanish Lake Nov. 1 for the Class 2 district race. In the boys’ race, Jack Weakly finished first for Elsberry, running 24th with a time of 19:53.     Troy Buchanan High Trojans, Winfield Warriors and Clopton/Elsberry IndianHawks saw their seasons come to a conclusion with losses in district competition. Troy Buchanan High completed their winless season as they were shutout 62-0 by state-ranked Francis Howell. They had lost just weeks ago in conference play.
