Winfield School celebrates awesome bus behavior

Every quarter Winfield R-IV School District gives out awards to students who have shown the Warrior Way while riding on the school bus for the whole quarter.   • Free high school equivalency preparation classes offered by SCCC

    St. Charles Community College will hold registration for High School Equivalency preparation classes in Eolia on Monday and Wednesday evening, Oct. 20 and 22.     Winfield Homecoming

    On Friday, October 3, Winfield was finally able to conduct their Homecoming traditions out on the new athletic field after storms postponed the previous attempt. Named as the 2014 Homecoming King and Queen were Tayler Nicholson and Kayla Bals. Both were excited to be nominated and to represent this year’s Homecoming King and Queen.

  • KEY Club annual Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF

    On October 19, 2014, the Troy Buchanan High School (TBHS) and the Ninth Grade Center (NGC) KEY Club members will be visiting homes in the city of Troy for their annual Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF. The Clubs have been participating in this event for many years. Members will be in costumes and knocking on doors asking for cash donations to support UNICEF’s causes.   • Winfield R-IV District works on student safety, participates in active shooter drill

    Safety is a key factor in any school district. The Winfield School District has been working on a new plan to put in place called ALICE. ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate.   • Elsberry school board opposes Amendment 3 in November

    During a September meeting of the Elsberry R-II School Board, Superintendent Dr. Tim Reller presented the board with a resolution in opposition to Amendment 3, a proposed constitutional amendment to Article IX that will be placed before the voters in the Nov. 4 general election.
