Soil health/cover crop workshop

The Lincoln County Soil & Water Conservation District along with the USDA-NRCS Elsberry Plant Materials Center will host a soil health/cover crop workshop on Nov. 6, 2 p.m. The workshop will begin with a tour of cover crop demonstration plots at the Elsberry Plant Materials Center.   • Salvation Army “Coats for the Cold”

    The Salvation Army has begun its annual “Coats for the Cold” campaign. Bright red barrels have been placed at various locations around Lincoln County in which to place your gently used sweaters, jackets and coats that are no longer of use to you.   • KEY Club annual Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF

    On October 19, 2014, the Troy Buchanan High School (TBHS) and the Ninth Grade Center (NGC) KEY Club members will be visiting homes in the city of Troy for their annual Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF. The Clubs have been participating in this event for many years. Members will be in costumes and knocking on doors asking for cash donations to support UNICEF’s causes.   • Ambulance district reminds residents of upcoming town hall meetings

    The Lincoln County Ambulance District (LCAD) is holding Town Hall Meetings Wednesday Oct. 22 and Thursday, Oct. 30. Both nights begin at 7 p.m. 1392 S. Third St. Troy. Come to one of the town hall meetings to meet your chief administrator, the district’s certified public accountant, board members, paramedics and EMTs.     Registration is now open for a new CPR/AED Class on Oct. 25, 2014, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. This class is free to fire district residents served by the Lincoln County Fire Protection District.
