The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported on several accidents resulting in injuries to area residents.
On Sept. 27 on O’Brien Road north of Hwy., there was a two-vehicle crash at 4:40 p.m. The Patrol statement said a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Michelle Baker, 23, of Elsberry and a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Michael Lindsay, 27, of Elsberry, met on a crest of a hill and collided. Baker was not wearing a seat belt. However, Lindsay was strapped in.
Baker was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis with moderate injuries.
On Sept. 30, Rachelle Horne, 16, of Elsberry, was injured in a crash on Rt. E, just west of Silex at midnight. Horne was driving a 2002 Chrysler 300 when she fell asleep. The vehicle traveled off the side of the road, struck an embankment and went airborne before coming to rest. She was using a seat belt.
Horne was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital West. Her injuries were listed as moderate.
Later that day at 4:10 p.m., Tia Hays, 29, of Elsberry, was seriously injured when she fell from a 2012 Harley Davidson Wide Glide driven by Kelly Tucker, 41, of Troy. This occurred on Hwy. B west of Dameron Road. Both drivers were using their safety devices.
Hays was flown by Air Evac Life Team to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.
A Troy woman suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash Oct. 1 in St. Charles County. It occurred on southbound Rt. 79 south of Old Misouri Rt. 79 at 10:10 p.m.
The Patrol said a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire driven by Kevin Meyer, 25, of O’Fallon was northbound on Rt. 79 and a 2003 Ford Focus driven by April Barnes, 32, of Troy was southbound. Meyer began to make a left turn onto westbound Old Rt. 79 when the front of his vehicle struck the Ford Focus.
Barnes and a passenger Jonathan Emory, 32, of St. Louis, were both taken to St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles. Emory’s injuries were listed as moderate. Meyer and Barnes were using seat belts while Emory was not.
Brando Sambo, 29, of Troy, was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash Oct. 3 at 5:42 p.m. in St. Charles County. Location of the crash was in the southbound lanes on Hwy. 61 south of Point Prairie Road.
The Patrol said Sambo was driving a 2001 uzuki Savage in the left lane. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned. He was wearing a safety device.
He was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles.
