Adopt-a-Family assistance for the Christmas holiday

Lincoln County Adopt-a-Family has started interviewing applicants who are in need of assistance for Christmas. Below is a summary of a few of the families that are available for adoption. If you are interested in adopting one of these families or would like more information, please call (636) 336-2410.

#016: Single mom of 2 kids. Waiting to be approved for disability, unable to work. Relying on family to get by. Needs: Clothing, undergarments, coats, socks. Gift Suggestions: Perfume, DVD’s, Books, Super Hero Items.

#017: Single dad of 2, on disability. Needs: Food, Bath towels, Mop, Clothing, Coats. Gift Suggestions: Pots & Pans, Cologne, Perfume, Hair Straightner.

#018: Recently divorced single mom, no child support. Needs: Winter Boots. Gift Suggestions: Necklace, RC Helicopter, Jewelry Craft Kit.

#019: Single mom of 4. Plate just put injaw, out of work 4-6 weeks. Father in jail, no child support. Needs: Clothing, Boots, Undergarments, Coats. Gift Suggestions: Make-up/Nail Polish, Used Game System, RC Monster Truck, Tinkerbell Doll, Dress Up Clothes.

#020: Family of 4. Dad laid off, Mom has medical concerns and unable to work. Needs: Towels, Sheets, Hair Clippers, Undergarments, Boots, Coats. Gift Suggestions: Hoodie, Candles, Coveralls, Teddy Bear.

#022: Single man on disability. Needs: Vacuum, Blanket, Sheets, Blender. Gift Suggestions: Mustache Trimmer, Wallet.

#023: Family of 4. Dad is disabled, Mom lost her job. Homeschools younger son. Needs: Blankets, Clothing, Sheets. Gift Suggestions: Stick Vacuum, DVD’s, DS Games.

#024: Single mom of 4, just had a baby & can’t work yet. Was a stay at home mom, now separated from father. Needs: PJ’s, Hats, Gloves. Gift Suggestions: Nerf Gun, Polly Pocket, Minnie Mouse, Infant Toys.

#025: Grandma on disability, raising granddaughter. Needs: Blender, Boots, Coat. Gift Suggestions: Gardening Supplies, CD Player, Board Games.

#026: Family of 4. Parents are looking for jobs, but unable to find any. Needs: Pots & Pans, Towels, Blankets, Clothing, Boots, Coats. Gift Suggestions: Dallas Cowboys, La-la Loopsie, Baby Dolls, Batman.

#027: Family of 3. Dad is unemployed. Mom only works part time, unable to cover financial needs. Needs: Dining Room Chairs, Pots & Pans, Sheets, Twin Bed, Clothing. Gift Suggestions: Candles, Flashdrive, Littlest Pet Shop, Coloring Books.

#028: Family of 5. Dad is disabled and can’t be left alone. Needs: Kitchen Towels, Laundry Baskets, Clothing, Boots. Gift Suggestions: Jewelry Making Supplies, Coffee Pot, Wii Game, Fur-Real Dog, Bike, Twin Baby Dolls.

#029: Grandma on disability, raising granddaughter. No support from parents. Needs: Queen Size Bed, Sheets, Dryer, Clothing, Undergarments. Gift Suggestions: Leopard Comforter, Nail Polish, MP# Player, DVD’s.

#030: Single mom of 1. Medical problems, no insurance & cannot find a job. Needs: Kitchen Towels, Pans, Shower Curtain, Clothing. Gift Suggestions, DVD’s, Bath Gift Set, Bike, Art Supplies.

If your family is in need of assistance for Christmas, you may fill out an application at Harvester Christian Church. Applications are accepted Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10am to 2pm. Questions regarding applications, please call (636) 528-0566.
