A Silex man was arrested on Oct. 7 in Troy for drug possession after a traffic stop yielded several stashes of methamphetamine in his vehicle.
According to court documents, Troy K. Smith, 41, was stopped at approximately 11:30 p.m., at the intersection of Boone Street and Main. After pulling Smith over for several traffic violations, police learned that his driver’s license had been revoked. After a search of Smith’s vehicle, police found a bag containing multiple plastic bags, a digital scale and a scooping spoon. Inside several hidden compartments, police found clear zip lock bags containing a substance which later tested positive for methamphetamine.
