Blue Star Mothers chapter forming in Troy

Posted on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 7:00 am

The Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. is a congressionally-chartered military and veteran service organization in service nationally since 1942.
A new chapter is forming for Lincoln and the surrounding counties and members are looking for mothers of active duty or veteran military service members to get involved.
Membership in the Blue Star Mothers is open to any mother, step-mother, adopted mother, or legal guardian of an active duty or honorably-discharged military service member.
Led by local Air Force Mom Julie Rodgers, these Blue Star Mothers are eager to offer support to local military moms, families, active duty military members, and veterans.
“As President of the Gateway Blue Star Mothers for the past three years, I have had the opportunity to witness the power a group of determined Blue Star Mothers has to do good for military families, active duty heroes, and veterans,” Rodgers said. “We are so excited to bring this organization and that level of support home to our local area.”
Based on a successful Meet & Greet held in Troy, MO on September 19, the group was inspired to move forward. All area military mothers are invited and encouraged to attend a Blue Star Mothers get-together on Tuesday, October 17 from 6:00-7:30 PM at St. Stephen United Methodist Church, located at 101 St. Stephen Ln in Troy to learn more about the organization and how they can get involved.
