Clayton Curry, age 10, recently met the paramedics of the Lincoln County Ambulance District that helped save his life March 18, 2014.

Clayton was riding on the back of a go cart and was thrown from it as it made a turn and he couldn’t hang on. Clayton was critically injured. Lincoln County Ambulance responded with paramedics Clayton Shaw and Adam Schlosser.

The paramedics reported they knew from the start that young Clayton would need to be airlifted to one of the Pediatric Trauma Centers in St. Louis. Air Evac was called to the scene.

Air Evac flew Clayton to Cardinal Glennon Pediatric Trauma Center where Clayton’s mother Tara received the terrible news that Clayton had multiple skull fractures, bleeding in his skull with swelling.

Clayton Curry is a fighter and he has amazed everyone involved in his care. Today Clayton is walking and talking and all reports are that he will make a full recovery.

Due to the high cost of trauma care, a website has been set up to help Clayton’s family pay for some of the hospital bills that are coming in. If you would like to donate to the Curry family visit
