On Nov. 28, Troy Buchanan High School and Ninth Grade Center students in Moscow Mills, had the opportunity to participate in an engaging performance by Breakdown STL.
The program showcases student actors and performers from around the St. Louis area. Throughout the program difficult topics relevant to today’s teenagers were addressed, such as relationships, bullying, suicide, drug and alcohol use and self-harm.
Following the show, a TBHS senior commented, “the performance had a lot of good information. Some of the topics were difficult, but they covered things that students need to hear.”
This performance was facilitated by the Lincoln County R-III Education Foundation and a generous contribution from TBHS alumni, Tony Pogrelis.
Mr. Pogrelis stated, “the program seems to have a totally different approach. By reaching students through their peers with relevant, straight-forward information. I believe that this program could have a bigger impact than any other program students have seen.”
The district is thankful for donors like Pogrelis that provide their students with opportunities for growth, engagement. and continued excellence in education.
