Charles “Charlie” Patrick Brown, 80, of Spanish Lake, Mo., passed away Jan. 9, 2013 at Mother of Good Counsel Home in St. Louis. He was surrounded by his family.
Charlie was born Feb. 12, 1932, in Algiers, La., the son of Robert Pierre Brown and Juanita Margaret O’Donnell Brown. He was the youngest of six children.
As a Marine, he proudly served his country in Korea and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. In 1952 he married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Ann Blumenfeld-Zoeller and to this union three sons and three daughters were born.
Charlie was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, his parents, his son David Charles Brown, his siblings and his in-laws, S. Albert Zoeller and Faye Rutledge Zoeller.
Surviving are his children Terry (Anne) Brown, Mary Lynn Brown and Maria Brown, all of St Louis, Frank (Gay) Brown of Troy, and Moira (Erin) McCauley of Wentzville, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild
On Monday, Jan. 14 at noon, a funeral procession will begin at Buchholz Mortuary in Spanish Lake, Mo and escort Charlie to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery where a graveside service will be held at 1 p.m.
