Duane “Butch” Bowles, 57, of Troy, formerly of Troy, passed away on Oct. 12, 2013.

Butch was born on Nov. 9, 1956, in St. Charles to Hank Bowles and Gertrude Wray. He was raised by Gertrude and his step father, Mr. Edward Eugene Wray.

He attended the local schools along with his five sisters and one brother.

Butch was self-employed as a car detailer as long as his health permitted.

He is survived by one daughter; Miriah and husband, Dusty Maggard, of Delphi, Ind.; five sisters: Tina Parker, of Troy, Debbie (Virgle) Mueller, of Wright City ,Gertrude Wray, of Wright City, Lelia (Robert) Scott, of Troy, Baby Jean (Jeffrey) Hebb of Troy, one brother; Shawn Atteberry of Troy and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at McCoy-Blossom Funeral & Cremation Center Troy. Rev. Charles McKee officiated.  Inurment will follow in the Troy City Cemetery Troy.

Mrs. Dorothy C. Lewis, 93, of Eolia, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at National Health Care in Maryland Heights.

She was born on July 20, 1920, in Boschertown to Ernst and Dora (Nolle) Plackemeier. Dorothy had nine siblings. She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St.Charles. While in school, Dorothy attended a football game at Ritenour High School and this is where she met her future husband, Lyle Lewis. They were united in holy matrimony on June 19, 1948 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St.Charles. They were blessed with six children: Donald, Sandy, Mary, David, Bob and John.

While the children were young, Dorothy and Lyle helped with Walther League Youth Group at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Overland. The couple later moved to Eolia to enjoy country living.

Surviving are her loving children: Donald and wife, Carolyn Lewis, of St. Charles, Sandy and husband, Dennis Bequette, of Eolia, Mary and husband, Mark Musick, of St. Charles, David Lewis, of St. Charles, Bob and wife, Sherry Lewis, of St. Peters, John and wife, Angie Lewis, of Lake Saint Louis; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held  Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 from 10 a.m. until noon at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral & Cremation Ctr, 1304 Boone St., Troy.

Graveside service was held at  1:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis. Officiating was Rev. Garry McCracken.
