At their meeting in November, members of the MRL Lincoln County Chapter discussed their plans for the annual ecumenical prayer vigil to be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 1307 Boone Street in Troy on Jan. 12 at 7 p.m. In case of inclement weather that evening the vigil will be held Jan. 26. The public is encouraged to attend and join a number of local church denominations in prayer and song for the intention of a return of respect for all human rights.
The vigil marks the 45th anniversary of the legalization of abortion and the loss of nearly 60 million unborn children. Special speaker for the evening is Bert Gruender of the Coalition for Life organization. Young people are particularly encouraged to attend.
Coalition for Life provides practical and emotional support to women facing a crisis pregnancy. Also making a short presentation will be Paul Brunner on behalf of the new Options for Women pregnancy resource center in Bowling Green.
Additional plans are also being finalized by several local groups to attend the 45th annual March for life in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 19.
