First Christian Church, 1302 Boone Street, in Troy will hold it’s annual “Cookie Sale,” sponsored by the Edna Ricks Circle, on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 8-11 a.m. in the church fellowship hall.
A wide variety of holiday cookies will be available for purchase at $6 per pound – and they will include specialty cookies, gluten free cookies, and nut free cookies.
This annual tradition at the church started several decades ago, and is a fundraiser for the Circle who contributes to many worthy church-related causes.
The cookies you purchase will be placed in a cardboard box ready for your enjoyment.
Also, on the same day, during the same hours the “free” community breakfast will be occurring – come and enjoy a hot and delicious breakfast, and warm fellowship, while enjoying the lovely cookie presentation.
The breakfast, always on the second Saturday of each month, has now been in continuous operation for more than a year, and serves 40-65 people on a monthly basis.
Each breakfast will feature either pancakes or French toast, scrambled eggs and sausage, hash browns, sweet breads/pastries, juice and coffee along with fresh fruit (seasonal). There is absolutely no cost for the breakfast – just come and enjoy.
In addition, the church operates a weekly day care center with an intensive curriculum offering.
