Elijah Cundiff, Vivian Hammel

Elijah Bruce Cundiff, stillborn, passed away on May 31, 2013.

Elijah is survived by his parents, Annie and Dustin Cundiff, of Moscow Mills; his brother Issac Cundiff, of Troy; his sister, Allie Cundiff, of Troy; his grandparents: Deborah Harris, of Spring, Texas, Dori (Mike) Cundiff, of Florissant, Gay Anne Cundiff, of Caseyville, Ill. and many other relatives.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Funeral Services for Vivian Luceil Hammel, 83, of Troy, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.  Rev. Richard Turnbull of Winfield and Carl D. Terrill will officiated

Mrs. Hammel passed away early Monday morning, June 17, 2013, at her home in Troy.

Born May 28, 1930, in Nellyville, she was the daughter of Thomas Russell and Allie Bowen Ferguson.  She was united in marriage on July 29, 1947 in Mayfield, KY to Arthur William Hammel.  This union was blessed with three children: Susan, Linda and Phillip.  In 1959 Art and Vivan purchased Timberlake Marina where she worked as an operator until her retirement in 1989.

Survivors include two daughters: Susan Horst and her husband, Greg, of Troy, and Linda Birkhead and her husband, Joe, of Perry; one former daughter-in-law, Shellie Hammel-Simmons of Eolia; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren .  She also leaves two sisters-in-law: Rita Bowen and Helen Ferguson, both of Park Hills; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
