With the first game of districts out of the way, the Elsberry Indian Soccer Team seemed to be back in their groove.
After a 5-0 win over Winfield on Thursday, Oct. 25, and then again on Monday, Oct. 29, Head Coach Dustin Robinson said not only did he feel as though they played well but clean.
“We were scoreless at halftime but had several scoring chances,” said Robinson. “Finally about 10 minutes into the second half Simon Domingo sent a cross to Ben Rhoades, who would put the ball in the back of the net.”
Rhoades would later add another, his 28th of the season.
“We played a good game last night but playing back-to-back is going to be a challenge for us,” said Robinson. “This is something we have done a lot this year but we have several guys out due to injuries. We have had some great play from guys stepping in.”
Heading into round two, the Indians played Christian and they lost 4-0 on Tuesday, ending their season.
