The Elsberry basketball teams have seemingly gone on different paths in recent games. The Indians have put together a two-game winning streak, 46-40 over Orchard Farm and then 58-49 over Silex.
“Anytime we go down to Orchard Farm, it’s a tough place to play,” Coach Ryan Parker. “The best thing about it was just seeing our boys share the ball better than we have seen in the past.”
“Caleb Eisenbath has been a key player starting the last two games,” said Parker.
In the game against Silex, Elsberry played well early. Silex’s Austin Fleming hit four straight three-point field goals on four consecutive possessions.
The Lady Indians are attempting to get better consistency since they returned from the holiday break. They lost 60-51 to Orchard Farm. “We played neck-to-neck until the last quarter,” said Coach Hector Bencomo. He looks for better concentration on the ‘easy’ shots’ which, for now, are not being converted. Olivia Brown scored 25 points including five three-point field goals for the Lady Indians.
