After 37 years of dedicated service, Cathy Nelsen retired from Peoples Bank & Trust Co. at the end of December. Nelsen joined Peoples Bank in January of 1982 as a teller and in just a few years, she was promoted to head teller of the Troy Main Bank location. Cathy has worked the last 19 years as the head teller supervisor, overseeing the teller operations at all seven Peoples Bank & Trust locations.

While she has many fond memories of her time at Peoples Bank, Cathy’s favorite memory is of a boat outing on Mark Twain Lake with Donald and Virginia Thompson and other bank employees.

“We were a much smaller bank then, but it was a wonderful day and so nice of Donald and Virginia to take us out,” said Nelsen. “I will be forever grateful to Peoples Bank for their kindness and consideration of employees and their families.”

In addition to missing helping her customers, Cathy is also going to miss seeing her co-workers daily, many of which are now cherished friends.

Nelsen plans to spend her retirement traveling with family and being able to have more time with her grandchildren.
