Current River State Park will be hosting Bird Fest on Saturday, Aug. 9. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the event will feature programs highlighting the world of these feathered friends beginning at 1 p.m.
The event will include on-going programs throughout the event featuring a falconry exhibit, owl pellet dissection and bird-related crafts and activities. The event will conclude with a presentation at 7:30 p.m. by Joe Hoffmann of the World Bird Sanctuary. At the conclusion of the presentation, Hoffmann, assisted by members of the audience, will release two birds that were rehabilitated at the sanctuary. The event is free and open to the public.
