Life is full of beginnings and endings, which are sometimes difficult. At times it may seem as though there is no motion, as though our lives are idle unable to move forward or backwards. The truth, however, is our lives are always in motion. Throughout our lives we are ever changing whether it is in the area of education, career, residence or relationships. These changes create beginnings and endings, which forever redirect us.
For the past six years I have worked alongside the same three guys, building and repairing a number of different homes and buildings at K&K Construction. I had begun to fully understand my job and found my comfort zone. With mixed emotions this part of my life, this chapter, was about to come to an end.
A new beginning, a new chapter, was to bring about this change. A few weeks ago former reporter, James Brandly, told me about a job opening up at the Journal. Journalism had never been something I had thought of as a career for myself, but I was intrigued by the idea. After a very long and hard debate with myself I decided to pursue this lead and was awarded the job I now have at the Journal. It was time to leave the comfort of a job I knew well and enter into a profession I will have to learn on the fly.
Although an ending of one chapter can be difficult, we can be thankful a beginning is guaranteed to follow. Life’s beginnings and endings may not always happen exactly when or how we planned, but they may occur when we need them with or without our knowing why. At times this may seem hard or even scary, but we never know when we may find our beginning that leads us to a happy and meaningful ending.
