Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance is happy to host the 2014 Cardinal Caravan in Jefferson City on Friday, January 17th at 6 p.m. Members of the 2014 National League Champions and World Series contenders, St. Louis Cardinals, will be in attendance.
Current St. Louis Cardinal players’ NLCS MVP Michael Wacha, Tyler Lyons, Jermaine Curtis and Stephen Piscotty will be available for autographs and questions during the program. Wacha was the 2013 National League Championship Series Most Valuable Player during his rookie season. Also on hand will be Cardinal alumni Alan Benes and John Costello, and team mascot, Fredbird. Cardinal announcer John Rooney will emcee the event.
Doors to the Missouri Farm Bureau Center, 701 S. Country Club Dr., will open to the public at 4:30 p.m. Tickets will be provided at the door for the first 500 kids, ages 15 and under, and guarantees one autograph from each current and former player. The event is free.
Farm Bureau Insurance and the St. Louis Cardinals have teamed up over the past several years to raise funds for the March of Dimes. Ballpark food will be available at the event consisting of hot dogs, chips, popcorn and Coca-Cola products, all available for $1 per item. Raffle tickets for Cardinal memorabilia will also be sold to raise funds. Please bring cash only. All proceeds will benefit the March of Dimes. Co-sponsors of the food and beverage are Jefferson City Hy-Vee and Jefferson City Coca-Cola Bottling Company.
