Posted on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 7:00 am

A Lincoln County man detained a would-be car-thief long enough for law enforcement to arrive on scene after the suspect broke into several shops on his property and set fire to one of them.
The incident occurred in the 700 block of Foristell on Aug. 2 at approximately 10:30 p.m. Deputies were called out to the residence about a robbery in progress. When they arrived, they found 32-year-old David Cramberg of Wright City being detained by the homeowner.
According to the probable cause statement, when the resident confronted Cramberg inside one of the shops on the property, the suspect lit a fire using alcohol and lighter fluid. He later admitted to setting the fire “as a distraction so he could escape.”
Cramberg then went inside another shop and started a vehicle and began driving away at a high rate
