There’s an important date coming up for people on Medicare. The open-enrollment period for changing Medicare prescription drug plans (called Medicare Part D) and Medicare Advantage plans begins Oct. 15 and ends Dec. 7.
People on Medicare can add or make changes to existing prescription-drug and some privately owned health insurance plans under Medicare. With so many choices out there, it is more important than ever to choose the best plan.
Volunteers with CLAIM, Missouri’s free Medicare counseling program, will be available for free, unbiased help at the following event:
Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Lincoln County Council on Aging, 1380 Boone St., Troy.
There are a limited number of spots at this enrollment session — reservations are encouraged. Spaces can be reserved by calling CLAIM at 1-800-390-3330.
CLAIM provides free, confidential advice to Missourians on Medicare. CLAIM’s certified volunteers each year counsel more than 40,000 Missourians on their Medicare options and often save them money. CLAIM is a free, state program and does not sell insurance. For Medicare questions, call 800-390-3330 or visit missouriclaim.org.
Primaris provides the services for the CLAIM program through a contract with the Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration (DIFP).
