Hawk Point-C.O. Conley grew a large tomato vine in his garden this summer. The vine rose 15 feet in the air.

Phil Beck announced he has purchased the Lincoln County Motor Company where he has worked since 1952.

Ron Curtis and Juanita Bibb were chosen as the Man and Woman of the Year by the Troy Chamber of Commerce.

Phyllis Weinrich, senior at Buchanan High in Troy, has been named a correspondent for Co-Ed magazine.

Winfield- The community was sadened to hear of the death of Paul Dickerman who was serving in Vietnam. He was the son of Rev. and Mrs. Harold Dickerman of Star Hope, and urther survived by two brothers and a sister.

The Donald Wiss family of Hawk Point receivd a State Farm Managaement Award. The Robert Grateke family won a farm management award at the county level.

Phil Colbert and Cary Mogerman, students at Buchaan High, were named to the Missouri all-state high school band.
