Preliminary data from MDC shows that deer hunters in Missouri harvested 191,368 deer during the November portion of fall firearms deer season, Nov. 11- 21 Elected as officers of the Troy FFA Chapter were Arthur Hoffman, president; Robert Muenstermann, vice-president; David Hepperman, secretary; Howard Schieffer, treasurer; Homer Page, sentinel; and Kee Groshong, reporter.

Dec. 1, 1967
Four prisoners escaped from the Lincoln County Jail where they assaulted Sheriff Irl Elliott. One prisoner turned himself in approximately 90 minutes later. The other three remained at large.
Sheriff Elliott was taken to Lincoln County Memorial Hospital for stitches to close a head wound.

Glen Wegener and Dale Himmel, two 4-H members from Lincoln County, were the recipients of bred gilts as a result of their efforts in 4-H this year.

Donna Lewis was elected president of the Troy Chapter of Licensed Practical Nurses. JoAnn Hallemeier was elected vice-president and Christina Boedeker, second vice-president .

Patti Schulte was elected Homecoming Queen at Winfield High

Jim Schulze was recognized at the recognition banquet for high school teachers held at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He was nominated by former student Keith Creech , a freshman at the university.

Missouri House Speaker Rod Jetton visited the area to assess public transportation needs.

Alex Suddarth and Jessica Patrick represented Troy Middle School at a FCCLA conference in Atlanta, Geo.
