The Buchanan High Pep Squad received the sportsmanship award at the Bowling Green Tournament.

David Hepperman, Marvin Himmel, and Donald Chandler built a wagon which is just one of the projects built by members of the Vocational Agriculure chapter at the high school wguch ws on display at the spring lot in Troy.

Sgt. Robert Edinger, of Old Monroe, receive d the Distinguished Service Award ribbon for helping his unit receive the Air Force Outstanding unit award.
Edinger is a jet engine mechanic.

Hawk Point-Mayor Emmett Hoffmann said the city water supply system has received state approval and signs have been ordered for this recognition.

The Troy Area Council on Aging opened at 705-C East Cherry. This new effort will provide meals and an activity center for area senior citizens. Dr. Virginia Jackson is the board president.

John Silverberg and Karen Crofts were selected as the Lincoln Couty 4-H King and Queen.

Nancy Havlik was selected as the January FHA Girl of the Month at Silx High School.

Joe Beebe was presented his Eagle Scout award at a special event held in the cafeteria at Harper & Row in Troy.

Mary Agnes Mitchell was honored by Missouri Edison for her 30 years of service. to the company.

The First Christian Church of Troy will hold a congregational meeting Sunday to begin a study into the building of a new church parsonage.

On Feb. 29, Kent Hanshew assumed his new duties as sheriff of Lincoln County. He succeeded Dan Torries who resigned for a new position in the provate sector.
Hanshew has 25 years of law enforcemnt experience.
