Miss Bonnie Sue Luckett was selected as the Prom queen at Buchanan High School. Placing the crown on her head was Hunter Beckman.

John Lovell, of Silex, earned a promotion in rank while serving with the U.S. Marines at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Students from the Clayton School District visited the Clem Kallash farm during their outdoor education week at Cuivre River State Park.

Russell Cox was presented $25 at the extension council for his selection of having the “Pasture of the Year.”

Winfield-Roger Hoelting was the valedicorian of the Winfield senior class. Bernard Burkemper was the salutorian.

The over three and half year old murder case of Bernice Lavy has been re-opened by Lincoln County authorities.
Mrs. Lavy was found on Jan. 14 when her husband came home from working with his father. Her one-year-old daughter was unharmed.

Willalma Bishop was promoted to vice-president and Mary Ellen Watson to assistant cashier at Boatmen’s Bank of Troy,

The tenth anniversary of the Troy VFW No 8828 will include a dedication of their post home on Sunday.

Jim Schulze was honored at the Troy FFA Banquet. He is retiring as the FFA advisor with the Troy chapter for 30 years.

Troy Buchanan High will be represented next week at the state golf tournament for the first time ever as a team. Team members include Casey Hopkins, Scott Kirchoff, Michael Flynn, Karl Cook and Kevin Cox. Rob Cissell is the coach. They won the district tournament held in Moberly.

Recipient of the Best of Show award at the Classic On Wheels car show in Elsberry was Jess Green, of Troy, with his 1071 Chevelle.

Dr. Carol Ryan was elected to the Missouri Veterinary Association medical board. She is a working owner, along with husband, Dr. Bruce Rhoades, of the Elsberry Animal Hospital. She also works part-time at the Troy and Wentzville Veterinary Clinic.
