Upon graduation from high school, he was recruited for minor league baseball, but chose to attend college at Illinois State University.  He received a Bachelors of Science degree from Illinois State University and was also a member of the men’s track team. He then attended Missouri State University, where he received a degree in Administration.  Over the next several decades, Mr. Bartee was a distinguished teacher of advanced mathematics and an outstanding administrator in the Kansas City public school system.  A member of Who’s Who in Education, he was most recently a retired distinguished professor from DeVry University.  As a teacher scholar, his extraordinary dedication and commitment to excellence in education was evidenced by numerous outstanding teaching awards and consistent accolades from his students over the years.  He was also a wonderful full time caregiver for his mother in her later years and an exceptional loving brother to his sister and uncle to his niece.  He was actively involved in his community and was never too busy to help someone in need.  His gentle and caring nature, character and integrity earned him profound respect from his friends and family.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Bartee will be held Friday at 11:00 am at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel in Moberly, Missouri. Committal prayers and Interment will follow in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of service.
