Helen M. Benson, 68, (nee Hagan) Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Oct. 8, 2013.
She was the loving wife of Michael “Mickey” Benson for 47 years; beloved mother of Kelli (Bo) Maxfield, and Corey Benson; grandmother of Corey Jr., Conner, and Matthew Benson, Trevor and Cody Maxfield. Dear sister to John and Charles Hagan and Winnie Chandler and the late Robert and Vern Hagan; sister in-law to Jim ( Cathy) Benson and Barbara Higgerson; Mary and Donna Hagan and the late Mary Hagan; our dear aunt, great aunt cousin and friend to all she met.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct 13 at the Stygar Mid Rivers Funeral Home and Crematory., 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Dr. (St. Charles) The family will receive friends on Monday, Oct. 14, from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Church, 403 North Main St., O’Fallon with Celebration of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Cremation will follow.

Luther “Bud” Gammon Jr., 78, of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday Oct. 8, 2013, at his home.
He was born on July 10, 1935, in St. Louis to Luther and Margaret (Tindera) Sr. After attending the local schools, he met and later married Catherine “Kay” Husmann in Bridgeton. Kay and Bud enjoyed their time spent together and loved to fish and go bowling.
Bud worked as a printer for Super Value in Florissant until his retirement. In 2005 they moved out to Winfield to enjoy the “country” life.
Bud is survived by his loving wife and caregiver Kay Gammon, of Winfield; his brother, John Gammon and friend Pat Sciulo, of Creve Coeur; two brothers-in-law: Jim and wife, Gail Husmann, of Oakville and Marvin and wife, Helen Husmann, of Union.

Carl F. Schulz, 77, of Old Monroe, died on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013.
He was the loving husband of Carole M. Schulz; beloved son of the late John and Emma Schulz; devoted father of Carl W. Schulz, Cheryl Marie (Greg) Ritchey, Robert John (Chris) Schulz, Lynda Lee (Larry) Burkitt; Michael (Michelle) Schulz,; cherished grandfather of Mindy, Krista, Lisa, Erikka, Tabitha, and Nikki; treasured great-grandfather of Keven, Aubree, and Bryant; dear brother of Elizabeth (Alvin) Grau and brother-in-law of Dennis (Janet) Hansen.
Carl was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing.
The family is being served by The Baue Funeral Home, 311 Wood Street, O’Fallon, where visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 4-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at noon, Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at Baue Funeral Home Chapel, 311 Wood Street, O’Fallon, MO.

Chad V. Walker, 35, passed away on Monday Oct. 7, 2013.
He was born on July 13, 1978, in St. Louis, Mo. to Donald and Patricia (Ottinger) Walker Sr. He grew up in Hawk Point with his brother and sister.
After graduating from the local school, Chad decided to become an OTR Truck Driver. During his years as a truck driver he worked for Witte Brothers, Creech Brothers and Coastal Carriers. Recently, he was working at Jiffy Lube as a mechanic.
Chad is survived by his parents: Donald and Patricia Walker Sr., of Hawk Point; his brother, Donald Walker Jr. and and wife, Simone, of Wentzville; his sister, Michelle Marie and husband, Mark Craig, of O’Fallon; one niece and four nephews, and his fiancée, Anna Schuster, of O’Fallon, Ill.
Chad was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Cave Springs.
Visitation will be held on Friday Oct. 11, 2013, from 3-8 p.m. at McCoy-Blossom Funeral & Cremation Center Troy.
Funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at 10 a.m., Trinity Lutheran Church in Troy. Rev. Garry McCracken will officiate.

Mrs. Nellie C. Wells, 91, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at her residence.
She was born at home on March 24, 1922, in Briscoe, to Tully and Eva Bell (Gibson) Taylor. Times were tough during the 30s and the family picked up and moved to Oklahoma. Nellie’s dad got a job in an oil field and the family also lived on the oil field. They later moved to Oregon and Nellie helped the family by picking hops and strawberries when not in school. She was in high school by this time and liked to play softball and graduated as valedictorian of her class. Nellie married a previous acquaintance of hers, Howard Derwood Wells, in June 1941. To this union were born three daughters: Eva, Jeanne, and Dorothy. They later moved to California in 1946 and her husband, Derwood, got a job working in the shipyards. Two years later on August 1948, the family moved back to Briscoe and lived with Derwood’s parents for a short time before getting a place of their own. She become a Christian at a young age and attended the Briscoe Holiness Church.
After Nellie’s children were grown, she began working for the Missouri Baptist Hospital in 1967 until 1986. Some of her favorite pastimes were fishing, riding horses, writing poems and crocheting. After her husband died on June 24, 1986, Nellie knew she needed to make a change and so moved into town.
Surviving are her loving daughters: Eva Owen and husband J.W. “Craine” Norton, of Troy, and Jeanne Wells, of Troy; her four adoring grandchildren and their spouses: Howard and wife, Ann Owen, Randy and wife, Michelle Owen, Rodney and wife, Sarah Owen and Jason and wife, Jericoh Owen; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Mary Taylor and her brother-in-law, Rev. Kenneth Wells; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral & Cremation Ctr, 1304 Boone St.,Troy.
Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral & Cremation Ctr, Troy location. Officiating will be Rev. George Prior. Interment immediately will follow in the Briscoe Cemetery in Briscoe.
