A new online search engine called Ecosia is making it easy for people to help the Earth. When you search the web with Ecosia, a site similar to Google or Bing, 80% of the profits from search ad revenue go toward supporting tree planting programs all over the world. Ecosia is free and easy-to-use, and can be accessed on any internet broswer.
Ecosia aims to be transparent and publishes their monthly financial reports online so that consumers can see exactly where the company’s income goes. They also aim to publish regular updates from each of their tree planting sites around the world and work with local organizations to ensure that their work has the largest impact.
So far, Ecosia has planted over 25 million trees, and simply by switching your go-to search engine, you could help make a difference across the globe. Check out www.ecosia.org for more information and to start helping this company make a difference.
