Five people were injured in three separate traffic crashes in Lincoln County, reported the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
One crash occurred July 20 at 4:41 p.m. on northbound Hwy. 61 at Highway U. The Patrol’s statement said a 2000 Cadillac Eldorado driven by Connor Brady, 19, of O’Fallon, went out of control and traveled into the northbound lanes of Hwy. 61, striking a 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by Breanna Williams, 23, of St. Louis. Brady was not using his seat belt; however, Williams was.
Both were taken by ambulance to St. Joseph West Hospital in Lake Saint Louis. Brady’s injuries were listed as moderate and Williams were listed as minor.
Dustan Gradala, 61, of Moscow Mills, was injured July 21 at 1:30 a.m. on Hampel Road south of Killarny. He was driving a 2005 Mustang when he failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the roadway and embankment before overturning. He was using his seat belt at the time of the crash. He was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph West Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Two people were injured in a crash July 22 at 1 a.m. on Route 79 north of Route C. According to the Patrol’s statement, a 1994 Mazda Protégé driven by Lee Gutmann, 34, of Elsberry, was northbound on Hwy. 79 and a 1982 Ford Econoline driven by Mark Benge, 52, of Quincy, Ill., was parked on the shoulder as Benge had fallen asleep. The Protégé traveled onto the shoulder and struck the Ford. Guttman was not wearing his seat belt. Benge was strapped in his seat belt.
Both were taken to St. Joseph Hospital West. Guttmann’s injuries were listed as moderate and Benge’s were listed as minor.
Three people sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 8:35 p.m. on July 22 on Route E just west of Route H.
According to the statement, a 2006 Mercury Milan driven by Laura Kaimann, 19, of Moscow Mills, crossed the centerline and struck a 1990 Ford Taurus driven by Kelsey Sanders, 18, of Troy, head-on.
Injured in the crash (all passengers in the Sanders vehicle) were Courtney Sanders, 20, Troy, Kelsey Sanders, 18 and Michael Stewart, 21, Wentzville. All three were taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital West. All were using their seat belts at the time of the accident.
