Ready for a day of fun? Take an OATS fundraiser trip.
On Oct. 16, the group will be leaving Troy First Christian Church at 10 a.m. by Mid America Tour bus. Lunch will be from noon to 1 p.m. Show time is 2 p.m. at the Maples Repertory Theatre in Macon. That will be great fun to check in on the Church Basement Ladies of the East Cornucopia Lutheran Church. The year is 1969 and the world is changing! Folks protest the Vietnam War and women are demanding equal pay for equal work. In their rural Minnesota community the Ladies are serving at a confirmation banquet, performing at Missionary night and experiencing the rise and fall of a Vikings Super Bowl Sunday. From the elderly matriarch of the kitchen to the young mom-to-be, these women find strength in each other as they deal with the joys and upheavals from below the “House of God!” The group will arrive back in Troy at 7 p.m.
If interested call Mary McCann 636-462-7794 or Mary Agnes Mitchell 573-898-3130. Checks must be made out to OATS Inc. and mailed to Pam White, 44 Brookview Lane, Moscow Mills, Mo. before Sept. 9, 2013. If you find it necessary to cancel after due date you must find a replacement or lose your fare.
Other fun trips to put on your calendar are Nov. 2 when they travel to Steelville Mo. to enjoy the Mermack Music Center and on Dec. 7 to Fenton’s ‘Christmas Magic’, and other Christmas lights.
