Mrs. Lesley Nenninger, 78, of Troy, passed away at her residence on Monday, June 10, 2013.
She was born on Aug. 6, 1934, in Grimsby, England to Robert and Ivy Collinson. Lesley grew up with her younger brother, Peter. After her formal schooling, she began working in Trinidad. During this time, she met her future husband, Charles Nenninger who was serving in the U.S. Navy. Shortly after, the couple was united in holy matrimony. They moved to St. Louis and this is where they raised their children: Robert and Lesley.
Lesley worked at Britts Dept. Store in St. Louis and later worked for the Normandy School District until her retirement. Lesley and Charles moved to Troy to be closer to their family. She became active in All Paws Animal Rescue and volunteered her services whenever needed. Lesley had also been a member of Moose Lodge in St. Charles and Silex. She also knitted scarves for the Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis.
Surviving are her beloved husband of over 55 years, Charles Nenninger, of Troy; her son, Robert Nenninger, of Troy, her daughter, Lesley and husband Terry Amschler, of Silex and her brother, Peter and wife Karen Collinson of Virginia, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
