Lincoln County sex offender charged with rape

                     LAROCCA

In late January, the Sheriff’s Office responded to Lincoln County Mercy for an alleged rape of a 33-year-old Lincoln County woman. According to the victim’s husband, he woke up to a strange noises to find his wife unclothed, in the hallway bathroom, with her head under water in the bathtub. He grabbed her and placed her in bed. She seemed to be disoriented.

The husband found Larocca siting in the living room petting his dog. Larocca claimed he did not know what happened and left. The husband transported the victim to the hospital.

The victim told investigators she received a call from 32-year-old Jonathon Larocca, of Troy, asking if he could stay the night, which she agreed. While watching television with Larocca, the victim said she passed out only to be woken up by her husband in the in the hallway bathroom. The victim said she did not remember how she ended up in the bathroom and would never give Larocca consent for sexual intercourse.

Investigators received a Sexual Assault Collection Kit conducted by medical staff. On April 30, 2018, detectives received the sexual assault kit analysis which stated the seminal fluid contained within was consistent with the DNA profile developed from Larocca.

Larocca refused to speak to law enforcement.

During the course of the rape investigation, detectives learned Larocca is a Lincoln County Sex Offender. The Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Compliance Unit started a subsequent investigation after learning he failed to disclose a Snapchat account.

Larocca was found guilty of felony sex offense of Statutory Rape (2nd Degree), of a 16-year-old female in Lincoln County on May 10, 2010.

Larocca is charged with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (2nd Offense) and First Degree Rape. He is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail with no bond authorized and no contact with the victim. Other conditions of bond may apply.
