Each year the Missouri Veterinary Medical Foundation, based in Jefferson City, sponsors the Animal Archives “Pet of the Year” competition for departed pets.
The Foundation invites the public to go online at and vote for their favorite pet.
This year’s nominees include “Hemi Myers”, a cat owned by Janet Myers of Troy. “Hemi Myers” was nominated by their veterinarian, Marcy Hammerle, DVM.
Janet Myers had these comments about their beloved pet, “You left paw prints on my heart. Our bond will never be broken. I will forever love and miss you.”” I miss you so much, Orange One. I miss our conversations, and I miss spending time with you. I will forever treasure our special bond. I pray you are at peace, and I thank you for blessing my life. Until we meet again on the Rainbow Bridge…. I will always love you, and my heart will always wear the paw prints left by you.”
Voting is now open for the 2017/2018 competition. “Hemi Myers” is one of six candidates. The Foundation encourages everyone to go online and vote. Go to the Animal Archives of Missouri website at
