The Missouri FFA Association recognized Madison McClenning of the Elsberry FFA Chapter as the Area 5 Star in Agribusiness at the Missouri FFA Convention.
McClenning is the daughter of Dustin and Amy McClenning of Elsberry. Her advisors are Jason Vandivort and Brett Waddell.
Area Stars in Agribusiness are selected based upon outstanding achievement in work experience in an agricultural business as part of a student’s supervised agricultural experience program and active participation in FFA. Area 5 includes 65 chapters in the Northeast District.

McClenning’s SAE started when she was given a pony. After showing for a few years, McClenning’s interest shifted to barrel racing. She purchased and trained a quarter horse mare and began competing in barrel racing. She has participated in barrel racing in two states and now trains horses for other people.
McClenning is currently serving as chapter parliamentarian and has also served as chapter sentinel. She received a Group I Individual rating in the state meats evaluation career development event. She attended Washington Leadership Conference and National FFA Convention for the past three years.
McClenning played basketball for two years and is a member of the American Quarter Horse Youth Association.
After graduation, McClenning plans to study animal science at Crowder College, Neosho, and become an equine chiropractor.
