Chloe Momphard of Troy, has been named the Missouri state winner of the 2018 GROWMARK essay contest for FFA members.
The theme of this year’s contest was “How can cooperatives demonstrate their value to the next generation of agriculturists?”
In her contest entry, Momphard said: “Providing education, products, and services that advance with technology is critical in this day and age. As the world population continues to grow, farmers have a daunting task before them. Cooperatives continue to be a critical part of agriculture because of their unique position within the industry.”
Momphard is a student at Troy Buchanan High School and a member of the Troy FFA chapter. Her FFA advisor is Rob Calvin.
As the contest winner, Momphard will receive a $500 award from GROWMARK at the Missouri FFA State Convention in Columbia, held in April. The Troy FFA chapter will also receive a $300 award in honor of her accomplishment.
Four state runners-up will each receive a $125 award.
