Martha Vivian Allen, 90, of Hawk Point, followed the angels home on Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Silex Community Care.
 She was born on March 9, 1919, a daughter of the late Charles P. and Martha L. Hartley-Allen. 
She is survived by several cousins.  A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Kemper-Marsh-Millard Family Funeral Home/ Hawk Point Chapel.  Interment will be held at Hawk Point City Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Pete Gounis.

Jesse Joseph Trower, 78, of Jefferson City died Monday, January 18, 2010 at St. Mary's Health Center.
He was born March 4, 1931, in Bellflower,  a son of William Sterling and Margueritte Parsons Trower.
He graduated as valedictorian from Bellflower High School in 1949 and received his B.A. degree from Westminster College, Fulton, Missouri, in 1953. He received his Bachelor of Divinity from the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 1956, and was ordained as a minister of the Presbyterian Church on June 3, 1956 by the Presbytery of Kirk.
He was married on September 1, 1956 to Golda Louise Winders, who preceded him in death. They had four children, Samuel Trower of New York, New York; Sara Trower of Lawrence, Kansas; Stephen Trower of Jefferson City, Missouri; and Suzanna Trower King of Albany, Ohio.
In 1966, after serving as pastor of the Memphis, Missouri Presbyterian Church, he moved to Jefferson City where he became Regional Director for CROP (Church World Service/Community Rural Overseas Program) in which  capacity he served for approximately 30 years until retirement. In 1966 he also became pastor of Salem Presbyterian Church, Hope, Missouri, where he served until his death.
He served as Stated Clerk of the Missouri Union Presbytery for 28 years from 1961-1997. In 1992 he served as Moderator of the Synod of Mid-America. In 2008, he received the John Bennett Award for Ministry inChurch and Community from the Missouri School of Religion Center for Rural Ministry in recognition for his many years to Bethel Salem Presbyterian Church, Festival of Sharing, the Missouri School of Religion, and the local and global community. He was a 35 year member and a past president of Kiwanis Club of Jefferson City.
He continued his lifelong devotion to others even in death by donating his body to the University of Missouri School of Medicine for medical research.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Holmes of Washington, Iowa; brother, James Frank Trower of Pasco, Wash.; his sister Mildred Ramsey and her husband Tom of Louisville, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church, 324 Madison St., Jefferson City, where a celebration of his life  followed

A Memorial Mass for Edward John O'Brien, 97, of Elsberry, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry.  Msgr. James Hanson will officiate with granddaughter, Kerry Klump providing music for the Mass.  A private graveside service was held Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the O'Brien Family Cemetery near Elsberry.  Mr. O'Brien passed away Friday night, February 5, 2010, at his home near Elsberry. 
Born July 4, 1912, in St. Louis County, he was the son of Edward William and Maris Gertrude Moore O'Brien.  He was united in marriage on June 6, 1950, at St. John & St. James Catholic Church in Ferguson to Margaret Mary Curtin.  This union was blessed with twelve children: Ellen, Patricia, Edward, Bridget, Maureen, Peggy, Michael, Patrick, Donald, Sean, Brendan and Siobhan.
 Farming for more than half a century and making their home in the Elsberry community since the early 1950s, Mr. & Mrs. O'Brien have been members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry for 56 years. 
Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Margaret O'Brien, of Elsberry; six sons,  Edward O'Brien and his wife, Connie, of Clarksville, Michael O'Brien, of Elsberry, Patrick O'Brien and his wife, Christine, of Paynesville, Donald O'Brien and his wife, Stella, of St. Paul, Sean O'Brien and his wife, Brenda, of Elsberry, and Brendan O'Brien and his wife, Donna, of Elsberry; six daughters, Ellen Schramm and her husband, Leroy, of Wentzville, Patricia Robertson and her husband, William, of Elsberry, Bridget Hummel and her husband, Chris, of Bowling Green, Maureen Wommack and her husband, David, of Silex, Peggy Carson and her husband, Ed, of Chesterfield, and Siobhan Ogle and her husband, Michael, of Wildwood; 38 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  He also leaves one brother:  Charles O'Brien and his wife, Nancy, of O'Fallo; three sisters,  Lenora Mason and her husband, William, of Florissant, Madonna Gould and her husband, Alfred, of Chesterfield, and Patricia Wilkinson of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
