2009 Adopt-A-Families see increase in numbers
Lincoln County Journal

For the past several weeks, volunteers have been faithfully meeting with local family's who are in need of help this holiday season. Countless hours have already been spent answering phones, returning messages, making appointments,  verifying information, and even babysitting the volunteers' children.
This is just the beginning, as the major feat is to find people who are willing to love on strangers as much as they love themselves and their own family. After sitting down face-to-face with one individual after another and listening to their circumstances and their obstacles,  sharing in their concerns for their family, the people at the Lincoln County Adopt-A-Family bring them to you...THEIR COMMUNITY. It is at times like these, we need to step back and be thankful  for all that we do have, and bless others that are less fortunate.

This is not only an invitation, but a challenge to everyone in this community.  If you live here, visit here, or work here, this includes you!

If every grade level of every school and every church listed in the newspaper directory were to adopt just one family, over a 100 families could be helped. Imagine how many families' lives would be changed if all residents and businesses jumped on board.

Take time to read through these families. If you are the one who cares enough to Adopt-a-Family this year, here's what to do- call 636-262-8765 or 636-290-4974. Or you can log onto www.lifepointetroy.com and click on the red Adopt-a-Family link.

Note- all families have requested items, which due to spacial issues, could not all be listed. Only needs that were provided were listed.
